After applying and interviewing earlier this semester, Stamile stepped into this new position on March 23, 2015.

Stamile said she is excited to work with incoming students and build leadership positions for those students to be involved in.

“I would love to get student leaders excited about getting their handprint on the new Education LLC,” Stamile said. “I want them to feel like this is a place they can really call home for years to come.”

With the Marrs McLean Science Building, home of the Baylor School of Education, only a short walk from South Russell Education LLC, Stamile wants to use the lawn in between for events likes outdoor movies or dinners with faculty and students. Other fun activities may include men’s/women’s nights, Bible study, or a Pinterest activity-of-the-month. Students will also engage in monthly service opportunities in Waco like Habitat for Humanity.

Stamile said she will incorporate her life motto into her new role as director: do for, do with, and cheer on. This means she plans on serving as a role model, growing with students in their journey here at Baylor and finally, cheering students on as they become more and more successful here at Baylor.
Already living on campus for 12 years, Stamile said the transition into this position will be easy.

In 2012 Stamile graduated with her master’s in Higher Education and Student Administration from Baylor’s School of Education. While studying here she held two apprenticeships — one with the School of Engineering LLC and the other with Provost Dr. Elizabeth Davis.

Stamile said, “My education in higher education was fantastic. It has prepared me heavily for an administration role to be able to balance the care and passion for working with students.”

Since graduation, Stamile has worked as a Program Coordinator in the Office of Pre-health Studies and the Honors College, helping incoming students transition into Baylor and their designated pre-health programs. She was involved in recruitment, selection, interviewing, and placing students into clinical research internships.

“I have a passion for bringing together different groups that don’t naturally come together, like pre-health and honors or education and living-learning centers,” Stamile said.

It can be hard to bring two different departments together, but Stamile will work closely to bring the resources and programs found in Campus Living and Learning to students in the Education LLC.

“We want the Education LLC and Campus Living and Learning to be very collaborative and collegiate to support each other in best practices to keep our programs moving forward,” Stamile said.
